Active Swim
Thanks to funding from the Eastern and Coastal Kent Primary Care
Trust the Active Swim scheme was able to run in 2009/10 with a
large amount of success. This was due to the coordination of
the scheme by Ashford Borough Council and the operating of the
scheme by Ashford Leisure Trust for the Stour Centre and Serco at
Tenterden Leisure Centre.
Please note the Active Swim programme has now
ended

Back in January 2009, Ashford Borough Council consulted with
various organisations on the proposed scheme such as Kent County
Council Social Services and Sure Start Centres. They found out what
their clients wanted to enable them to take part and from this data
(over 100 people responded) the offer would be shaped. The
headline statistics are as follows:
Ashford Borough Council, Civic Centre, Tannery Lane, Ashford TN23 1PL
