Lisa Dobriskey
Lisa Dobriskey - Athletics 
History
Lisa represents Ashford Athletics Club though she lives and
trains at Loughborough University.
She won the English Schools 800 m title for Juniors in 1998 and
for Intermediates in 1999 and made her junior international debut
indoors against Germany and France at 1500 m in 2000.
She finished 4th in the final of the 1500m in the 2008
Olympic Games in
Beijing.
She is ranked fourth in the world for the 1500m.
Lisa competed at the World Athletics Championships in Berlin
last year and picked up a silver medal. Originally Lisa was
awarded a bronze but was upgraded to the silver when the winner was
adjudged to push over another athlete.
1) What is the highlight of your career so
far?
Winning gold at Commonwealth Games at 1500 metres
2) After you competed in the
recent Olympics what are your next big challenges?
European Indoors 3000 metres and London
2012.
3) What do you think are the
benefits of taking part in sport?
It gives you a healthy lifestyle, you get fit,
the bonus of travelling and meeting people and sport has made
me more confident as i am fairly shy especially when i was at
school.
4) And finally what do you do in
your spare time?
Going out with friends for meals, shopping and
going to the cinema.
