Nick Boylan - Swimmer
History
Nicholas swam as a member of the GB Team, in the 100m breaststroke, at the IPC European Swimming Champions in Iceland.
Nick competed at the INAS-FID Open European Swimming Championships in Poland. He won two gold and 3 silver medals. He also won a further four silver medals in the open championships which included non-European teams.
Nicholas went to the Championships as GB Team Captain and led the way with a series of great performances. His gold's came in the 200m backstroke (which he also won two years ago) and in 4 x 50m medley relay. Silver was won by Nicholas in 200m breaststroke, where he beat his previous Personal Best time by six seconds, in 100m breaststroke, where he also secured a new P.B. His third silver came in 1500m freestyle, where again he beat his previous P.B., this time by 35 seconds. Nicholas's four silver medals in the open event came in 200m breaststroke, 200m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, and finally in 1500m freestyle.
Nick competed in the Kent Championships and won 5 gold medals in February 2009.
Nicholas who is the captain of the GB team at the INAS-FID Global Games in Czech Republic (5th-14th July) was part of the stand out swim of the competition was the 4 x 100m Medley Relay in which Nicholas swam the first leg (Backstroke). They broke the old World Record by two and a half seconds which had stood since 2002, also winning the Gold medal thus becoming the World Record Holders, Global Games Champions and World Champions.
He Won 2 Gold and 3 Silver medals. Also he won 4 Silver Medals in the open championships, which included countries from outside Europe. The gold medals included the 200m Backstroke which he successfully defended after winning this event 2 years previously. He remained as the G.B Team Captain for this event.
