Why be active?

Physical activity is essential for good health and will make a difference to your quality of life.

Just 30 minutes of physical activity of moderate intensity on 5 or more days a week can help.

Once you start being active, the benefits will become obvious. You'll experience:

better balance, strength, suppleness and mobility

Competitions

Winner towers above the rest

Shadeau Atley, 14, from Towers School in Ashford won a bike from Halfords Bike Hut for submitting the winning question in a competition organised by Active Ashford. More than eighty questions were submitted, but the panel decided that the question submitted by Shadeau was the worthy winner.

Shadeau and her family attended the Sporting Heroes celebration event at Ashford International Hotel and asked Jamie Staff her question. She then received her prize from Jamie, a bike and helmet courtesy of Halfords.
