About Active Ashford
The Active Ashford Sports Partnership is a visionary approach to
sports development for the Ashford Borough community and is the
local answer to national and regional sport strategies, including
‘The Game Plan’, ‘The Framework for Sport in England’ and
‘Strategic Framework for Sport in Kent’.
Active Ashford has 4 key objectives:
- Coach development
- Provide opportunities for the community of Ashford
- Inspire individuals to take part in physical activity
- Advise and give guidance on opportunities
The objectives above will be coordinated and worked on by
numerous partners of the scheme including:

Biog of the chairman of Active Ashford 
Graham Galpin has lived in Ashford for nearly
25 years and is proud to be a Man of Kent. He is Managing Director
of GHg Consultancy Ltd, a Regeneration & Economic Development
Consultancy based in Ashford, which was set up by Graham and his
wife Helena in 1998. He is also a Director and past Chairman of
Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce.
In his leisure time Graham swaps a suit for lycra to ride a
bike. He enjoys the challenges of 100 mile Cycle Time Trials and
tackling the tough European Cyclo-Sportifs of 80-160 miles. His
other interests include walking and bird watching in our wonderful
Kent countryside, visiting his parents who have retired to Spain
and his daughter who lives in Barcelona.
